Sam Smith on his new found weight loss

Sam Smith showed off his dramatic weight-loss transformation on Thursday in London.

The Grammy winner, who has been largely out of the spotlight this year, looked skinnier than ever as he hit the red carpet for the #YSLBeautyClub party in collaboration with Sink the Pink at the Curtain.

His baggy, long-sleeved T-shirt and jeans only drew attention to his slim-down.

Smith’s weight-loss journey started a few years ago.

“Extra’s” Jerry Penacoli spoke with Sam about it in 2015, after he had already lost nearly 50 lbs. He said despite losing the weight, he will always be self-conscious. "When I was a kid, I was fat. I was really fat, like, really fat, so it's always going to be something that's stuck with me, but I don't mind it — I think it's good to feel a bit self-conscious."

He added that feeling self-conscious helps him with his songwriting. "One hundred percent, the vulnerability factor of it does, for sure. I'm always going to have an issue with my weight and always going to be trying. I love food more than you can ever imagine." The secret to his weight-loss success? "I basically stopped eating as much."

Sam isn’t completely depriving himself these days. He posted an Instagram photo a few days ago with the caption, “Magical weekend in Bruges with my dad. Boat loads of Pasta & Wine & cheese. One last holiday x.”
